Fashion Fridays (but on Monday!): Things I Love

Harry Potter.

I actually went to Harry Potter world in Orlando--it was amazing!
Now how does fashion tie into that? Since the new movie is out this Friday--Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part I, I thought you'd enjoy the newest spread in British Vogue & Marie Claire on Emma Watson (plays Hermione Granger in the movie).
She graces the cover of both December 2010 issues. What do you think of her new haircut?! Whoa!!

First a few from Marie Claire (love it!):

and a few from British Vogue:

I loved both of these spreads and I hope you did too! Very Twiggy-esque...

Fashion Fridays: Things I Love- Pairing Soft with Hard

Pairing soft with hard...(feminine with edge)

This holiday season is all about the LUXE look. Sequins, lace, velvet and femininity with edge! Think old Hollywood glamour with a modern twist...here are some of my favorite pairings of the season...

1. Blush Tones with Black - I've been loving blush tones since the spring--they look great on every skin tone. Soft yet sexy. I'm sure you could tell with my last blog that I LOVE the new Bloomingdale's Holiday Style Guide that includes a perfect visual. Check it out:

2. Lace with Leather-but think girly non-traditional lace hues--like rose, or mauve with black leather. On top with a cropped leather jacket, or on the bottom with leather patch leggings like these available at asos.com for 105.16 (I don't like the shoes though!)-->

Dagmar Molly Black With Imitation Leather Patch Legging asos.com 105.16

3. Sequins with Smoky Eyes-old school sequins with new school styling. You can rock a vintage seqin mini dress from the thrift store, or splurge and get the one from my last blog -->here. For styling go with simple--a chic chignon, a clutch and a bangle...(see top photo, not this one for styling)

Enjoy a little treat this weekend (if not buying a new piece, at least go window shop!)

Fashion Fridays: Things I Love

The scarf...

Scarves are an essential to the simple chic woman’s closet—they add a pop of color or a fun print to your fit and can be used in every season. You can wear them with jeans and a tee, leggings and a tunic, or with a blazer and some skinnys. You can even spice up your dressier evening looks. As statement necklaces can be pretty pricey these days—scarves are a fun alternative!

I think every woman should own at least three-- nice neutral like a camel or a black, one in your favorite color and one fun print. They are a timeless trend, and always classy.

I was going to try to do my first how to video on my favorite ways to tie my scarves, but I found a few at http://www.tiemyscarf.com/, so why re-invent the wheel? Check out my faves and be sure to SHARE with your best buds!

Fashion Fridays: The L.B.D. Right For Your Body Type

So a couple months ago I wrote a blog about dressing right for your body type here--and with an overwhelming response, I thought I'd do a part II! Of course I'm keeping my original names--and remember you may be a combination of more than one body type.

Now everyone from Tim Gunn to your favorite fabulous aunt will tell you that if there is one staple that should be in every woman's closet--it would be the Little Black Dress (LBD). This typically is an all occasion dress that can be styled up or down depending on the event. I have done a little online shopping and found some knock out picks for particular occasions for each body type. Of course the one that I picked under your body type may not be your taste, but find inspiration where you can. Feel free to refer back to the original post (it has its own tab at the top). And as always, enjoy!

Fashion Fridays: Fall Essentials--5 Pieces To Add to Your Wardrobe Now

Fall is around the corner gals...so I will make this short and sweet--here are my personal top 5 staples for your closet for the season:

If you are classic...

1. Fitted blazer

2. Sheath dress - channel Michelle O

3. Pearls - nothing says feminine and classic like a good pair of pearls (you can modernize them with a modern take on pearls--pearls in a different color, or with a different drape/multiple strings of pearls)

4. Over sized leather bag

5. Your favorite jeans --the kind that make you feel like a million bucks!

If you are trendy...

1. Anything jewel toned – think ruby, emerald, sapphire, or amethyst - here is a cute ruby frock from Tulle - click here to see more

2. Infinity scarf or over sized scarf - these are two of my favs!

3. Military/utility jacket - I LOVE mine and you can throw it over anything--a cute dress or your favorite skinnys.

4. A flirty party dress - try bolder colors--fall is not all about neutrals anymore--show of your personality with a fun print and some tights.

5. Flat Rider Boot. This boot screams sexy and chic. Check some out!
